Wordless Wednesday ~ Date Night at The Dorrance
Ok, so not exactly wordless! My husband & I enjoyed a delicious 8 course tasting with wine paired at The Dorrance on Saturday night! The food was wonderful, the wine was great & beautifully paired, the service was spectacular & the ambiance perfect! The Dorrance is a restaurant in downtown Providence that is in an old Federal Reserve building, it still has the original board room which is set for private dinning & the original vault which could also be used for private dining. I said 8 courses, but there was also 3 “snacks” & 1 palette cleanser before we even started with the actual courses. It was a good amount of food, but small portions so you didn’t feel stuffed at the end. Here is our night in pictures….
1st snack was a ham & cheese stuffed pretzel roll, which was before I decided to photograph dinner…
Somehow I forgot to phohotgraph the 2nd course which was Steamed Tokyo Turnips, sunflower seeds, persimmon, cured egg, turnip leaf & pine nut puree.
2 desserts~Mexican Spiced Chocolate Ganache, Coffee, Chocolate Sorbet, Cinnamon Sugar Donut &…
I would certainly recommend The Dorrance, for drinks, a night out or for a special occasion! They have a regular menu along with a 4, 6, or 8 course chefs tasting which you can have with or without wine pairing. The Dorrance also has a private 2nd floor space for functions. We dined in the board room area which is private with windows into the dinning room, we love when a restaurant has this option. Private dinning is a great way to make a date night or any night out extra special & at most places there isn’t an extra cost. Always something to look into…
As a note, I surprised my husband with a night out. These are just my pictures & opinions. The Dorrance doesn’t even know I’m doing this. I just wanted to share our great night & wonderful experience!
